Pan-Lesvian Federation of Australia and New Zealand - New Precidency

logoPalesviaki Enosis of Melbourne and Victoria is set to assume the precidency of the Pan-Lesvian Federation of Australia and New Zealand from 1 July 2009.

On 2 May 2009, Associations from member States of the Pan-Lesvian Federation of Australia and New Zealand unanimously voted for Melbourne to hold the precidency of the Federation for the next 2 years.

Briefly, the objective of the Federation is to not only strengthen the relations between all State Associations in Australia and New Zealand, but to also promote the Greek language and culture and specifically the customs and traditions of Lesvos.  Furthermore the Federation takes an interest in and supports actively all issues (local, national and economic) concerning the people of Lesvos.

Whilst still in the transitional phase, Palesviaki Enosis of Melbourne and Victoria has appointed an Executive Committee for the Federation to not only enable the smooth transition of the precidency but to also commence the timely planning of the Federation's activities and events for the next 12 months.

The Executive Committee of the Pan-Lesvian Federation of Australia and New Zealand is comprised of the following:

- George Stavrinos (Chairman)

- Kostas Tsoubakos (Vice Chairman)

- Mary Peries (Secretary)

- Peter Demetriou (Assistant Secretary)

- John Karanikolas (Treasurer)

The new Committee is looking forward to working with with all the member State Associations for a productive and successful term.
